U3A Short Pub Walks Group 2

Walks of 3 to 4 miles will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.  It is a strollers group taken at a moderate pace; short stops can be taken to enjoy the scenery and things of interest.

We leave at 10:00am from the lower Waitrose car-park and travel to a pub where we will order our lunches (prior to changing into walking boots, please).  It is hoped that people will be prepared to share cars and we would recommend that £1 is paid per passenger towards the cost of petrol.  There is a U3A charge of 50p, collected on the day, to participate on the walks.

Walking boots or stout shoes and waterproofs are essential as we walk whatever the weather and some terrain may be wet, uneven, or slippery, depending on the conditions on the day.  Jeans are not recommended.  Dogs are not allowed. Stiles and other obstacles will be encountered on the walks

We stop for a “coffee break” during the walk, so please bring your own refreshments.

If you have a medical condition that could affect you on a walk, please make the leader aware.

It would be appreciated if walkers would not go ahead of the leaders.

Anyone participating in U3A activities does so at their own risk and is not covered by personal accident insurance.
