Short Pub Walks Group 5

Walks of 3 to 4 miles will be held on the second Wednesday of each month.  It is a strollers group taken at a moderate pace, short stops can be taken to enjoy the scenery and things of interest.

Walking boots or stout shoes and waterproofs are essential as we will walk whatever the weather and some terrain may be wet, uneven, or slippery, depending on the conditions of the day.

Stiles and other obstacles will be encountered on the walks.

We stop for a ‘coffee’ break during the walk, please bring your own refreshments.

It would be appreciated if walkers would not go ahead of the leader.

We leave at 10.00am from the lower Waitrose car park and travel to a pub where we will order our lunches (prior to changing into walking boots, unless they are clean, please) before commencing our walk. 

Walkers may be able to share transport and we would recommend that £1 is paid per passenger towards the cost of petrol, please note, transport cannot be guaranteed.       Dogs are not allowed.     Jeans not recommended.

If you have any medical conditions that could affect you on a walk please make the leader aware.

There is a U3A charge of 50p, collected on the day, to participate on the walks.

As we need to advise the pub of the likely number of diners in advance, please telephone me if you wish to go on a walk.  Similarly, if you book and subsequently find you are unable to go, please let me know as soon as possible.  If we do not know you are coming we may leave without you!

Anyone participating in U3A activities does so at their own risk and is not covered by personal accident insurance.
